I'm an ophthalmologist (surgeon), interested in safer, patient-friendly techniques of local anaesthesia. I use needle (peribulbar) block less than once a year- usually topical-intracameral, sub-Tenon or sub-conjunctival technique. I do 'seated' cataract surgery for patients unable to lie flat.
